The naturalist

Nobody really owns land, we borrow it for our brief lifespan.

“I think of them as elegant air swimmers.”

Robert Arnold Kay, PhD, brings science, experience, and a bold, stimulating, unconventional voice to original fiction. After over five decades employed within the worlds of elite science, he decided that today’s science was yesterday’s fiction.

He is a nutrition scientist (MS, PhD, RD, University of Connecticut) and a former Chief Science Officer. His career includes Alacer (Emergen-C), Pfizer, Bayer and Renew Life Formulas.

Stories came first. His mother patented the Talking Book in 1961; his father’s film company distributed well over 2,500 films; the house held over 1,100 books. In elementary school he won Junior Scholastic Gold Keys for his short stories.

Now he writes in Interlachen, Florida, on land he shares with more than 5,000 pollinator and host plants, banana cultivars, butterflies, and two cats, Shiva and Shakti, who let him clearly know how he may be of service to them.

“He’s a purist. So, it needs to be 100% fiction, no artificial intelligence additives woven into his word-art tapestries.”

From his About page

“Be a grateful shepherd to all that live where you live.”
